At the height of its success, Belle Meade Plantation was one of the largest and wealthiest private estates in Nashville encompassing over 5400 acres. Devoted to raising thoroughbred race horses, the family at Belle Meade opened the doors to the Mansion for friends and visitors and the finest food and drink became part of the tradition of this well-known site.

Today, while the site is limited to 30 acres, it is still one of the most cherished treasures in Nashville. Your guided tour of the 1853 Greek Revival Mansion will encompass both the first and second floors of the fully furnished home.

After the tour, continuing in the grand tradition of hospitality this site was known for, step over to The Winery at Belle Meade Plantation where we offer FREE wine tastings. You'll sample muscadine, blackberry, and other wines you'll want to share with family and friends alike.

And who could come to a Southern Plantation without eating? Our signature restaurant "belle" was named "Nashville's Best New Spot to Lunch" by The Nashville Scene. While the menu changes, some favorites include short rib stuffed burgers, shrimp and grits, and fried green tomatoes.
