As early as 1820, evidence exists that Belle Meade Plantation was making wine as part of their tradition of hospitality. That
is almost a century before California's venture into wine! Today homage is paid to their past with the opening of The Winery
at Belle Meade Plantation in November 2009. All wines are made from grapes grown in the vineyard 45 miles south of Nashville
and finished and bottled on-site at the Plantation. The Winery is one of the few non-profit wineries in the nation in which
all proceeds go towards the education and preservation mission of Belle Meade Plantation.

Inside the Tasting Room, one is surrounded by Nashville native hardwoods; many milled into lumber after century old trees had
died or fallen on the Plantation. Tastings are available seven days a week and highlight our wines that traditionally would have
been made on site. Blackberry and Muscadine are two wines that are as at home on your table today as they would have been on
the table in the mansion of Belle Meade in the early 1800's. Specialty chocolates, cheeses and baked goods pair wonderfully
with our wines and are available daily. The adjacent Magnolia Wine Garden makes the perfect spot to share a bottle of wine on
the grounds of the Queen of Tennessee Plantations!
